An operation called 'Spearhead', artificial battle-type souls were created, which when used can strengthens one part of
the body to a higher level. This is called Mod Soul. These Mod Souls were manufactured in a pill form, used to reanimate the
lifeless bodies of humans, and give that body a special ability. When the Spearhead operation is canceled, because it was
thought of as cruel to use a human corpse for battle, the mod souls that have been created are ordered to be destroyed, but
some managed to escape. Uta, being one of the lucky that did; however her whereabouts for many years are currently unknown.
These days, as far as she can tell, she wanders about her sort of home, running errands and such things for Urahara-sama that
the others don't particularly wish to do.. He did supply her with a wonderful Gigai after all.. even if her plushie form is
rather sub-par, being a raccoon, or more specifically, a tanuki (raccoon dog) with a bow and shirt length dress having a picture
of a leaf on it, as well as a patch of blonde hair.
Even in her plushie form, Uta adores her creator, and loves him to death. She would do anything for him, and shoo away
anyone that gets too close in a way that she doesn't like, especially a cat bitch.. er.. Yoruichi-san.
Each Kaizo Konpaku (Modified Soul) is equipt with a special ability of some kind, and, simply put, Uta has the power of
upper body strength. Although her gigai form would not seem as such, she can actually lift things many many times her own
weight, or use such a talent for fighting. In addition to this, Uta also possesses dual pistols, 'Kenshou Tama' (spirit energy
gun), that are somewhat similar to the Quincy Bow and Arrow. As far as gathering up and channelling the energy herself, she
cannot do. They fire bits of spiritual particles at a high speed, much like a regular gun shooting a bullet. The guns themselves
harness the power and will run low or fizzle out of energy if used too much... thus needing a refill.
